SAIT’s history begins in 1901 under the aegis of Belgium’s King Leopold II and Guglielmo Marconi, considered the inventor of the telegraph. Together with a group of Belgian entrepreneurs, they joined forces to find a solution to the communication problem in shipping. The Compagnie Générale de Télégraphie sans Fil was born. ADVERTISEMENT: In its 100-plus year history, SAIT has evolved and been known under names such as Radio Holland and Zenitel.
